How to identify font on a website?

You visit a lot of websites regularly. And you might get attracted by the font style of any of these websites. And you want to use the font on your website/project or want to note down the font name for your future project. But you have no clue about what the font is! 🙁

How can you get to know what the font is? It is very simple 🙂 , you can’t imagine how simple is to identify the font of a website.

We have explained two different ways to identify the font. One is using an extension of the Google Chrome browser, and if you do not want to install an extension for this simple one time task you can follow the second option(without installing anything). Let’s follow the steps below to identify the font of any website…

1 | Identify font using Chrome extension

  1. Install the Font Finder Chrome extension.
  2. Open the web-page for which you want to identify the font.
  3. Click on the Font Finder extension and move the mouse above the text.
  4. You will see the texts are being selected, click there.
  5. A new window will open where you can see the name font.

2 | Identify font without installing anything

  1. Open the web-page for which you want to identify the font.
  2. Right-click on the text for which you want to identify the font.
  3. Click on the inspect.
  4. Select the arrow from the dock.
  5. If you are on the Google Chrome browser, move the mouse to the text. You can see the font name on a new pop-up window.
  6. For other browsers click on the text and find the name of font at the right side of the dock.
